This is a version of
Elastic
Bullets by Philip
Winston
Brought to you by...
When I first saw the Elastic
Bullets script by Philip
Winston I was instantly fascinated.
I always wanted to convert it to use xLayer but I
didn't fully understand the Math.
I am sure I did this sort of math at one time but have now forgot.
I know it has something to do with one of Newtons Laws of motion
(Force=Mass*Acceleration).
The force is provided by the combination of spring stiffness & gravity.
I have now been able to reverse engineer Philips script to determine
the Math
This version is similar to Philips original script but in this version you
can specify the number
of masses you want in the start method that is run onLoad of the document.
(Click here for a demo with 20 masses & 3 configurations)
Of course, this script is not as complete as Philips as it does
not detect the
edge of the browser & bounce the balls off them like his script does.
However, as this script uses xLayer then it should work in all
browsers
including Netscape 6 (I tested it in NS6 PR3 on Windows)..
I have contacted Philip and he is OK with me providing this version of his original script.
